Who could do a re-paint job for me?

Sign in to disble this ad
Last week I tried re-doing the paint on my custom Jazz bass. Unfortunately I don't have the proper equipment & tools to do a good job. It's really rough. Is there anyone here who would be willing to do it for me? I will pay for shipment and cost of paint job. Would prefer local shop but will ship to get job done if I there are no other options? Let me know your price.

Any suggestions for an more effective DIY job? The sand-by-hand and spray paint from a can just isn't showing the best results.

Tomis: Depends a bit on what kind of paint you want to use, color (some are easier than others) and a few other questions, but I've done quite a few refins and I'm sure could do the job. Unfortunately it's not a cheap job (good costs, and it takes some work). If you want, PM me and we can talk about it.

What kind of paint did you use and what kind of smoothing, finishing did you do afterward, then what kind of clearcoat? If you look at reranch.com, they pretty much give you step by step tutorials on the whole job - and - they can sell you decent, rattlecan nitro paints and lacquer. I've done it both ways - with a sprayer and with reranch and Stew Mac cans. I can get good results both ways. But the reranch site taught me more about what to do, and what not to do than any other source. It does take time and patience, but it's actually not a hard thing if you think it through before you start shooting.
