What you're doing is a, "Ready, fire, aim!" scenario.

Hmm. If you're unsure, you should take it to a tech - to be safe.

Buzz - loosen truss, slack - tighten truss - NEVER do more than a quarter to half turn of your truss in a single day. When you adjust the truss, the wood has to settle.

Be patient, too much turning, you have the reverse problem.

Hahaha, I went mad with my truss rod when first learning, Neck seems fine now though, no buzz and action is fine. I did learn to go in small steps, like 1/8 of turn on truss, tune up check, recheck, rinse and repeat.

Actually, that is only partially correct. Buzzing on low frets indicated the truss rod needs to be tightened. Unless thats what you be tryin' to say.

If it buzzes starting at about the 6 to 8th fret, it needs to be loosened.

Well, it is not the nut height, that would effect intonation and open strings, once you fret a note, the nut is mostly out of the picture. You really just need to start again from scratch and follow the setup guide. I have read Drozd's guide, and I thought I remember him addressing your problem in his guide.

Don't know if your bass neck meets the criteria for adding a shim in the pocket. What I wish we had was more sticky videos for how to adjust/work on basses.
"What you see is a neck that needs a shim in the heel. Here's why. First remove the neck like this, then..."

Wrong.

Don't know if your bass neck meets the criteria for adding a shim in the pocket.

That has nothing to do with this issue

First, deep breath. Next, stop guessing at things. From here:

What kind of bass is it? Where do you live? (This is why blank profiles don't help too much.) Depending on the environment, you simply could be battling a neck that is somewhat more sensitive to humidity.
