Wierd rattling sound at Second fret?
So I was playing along to a few Smithereens tracks yesterday (most of them are a half-step down) when I noticed that my bass began to rattle at the second fret on the A string. It just happened randomly, and it's been like that since. I tried tuning it back to standard but it still rattles. I thought it was the way I was positioning my fingers, but I held it the same at the E and D strings and they sound just fine.
Anybody know of a solution?

Can you narrow down where the rattling is coming from? Like a general vicinity?

Exactly at the second fret on the A string. The first fret and third are unaffected. I think the strings may be hitting the fret when my finger comes down, I'm not sure.

Put a straight edge on frets and see if they are level

Fret maybe has problem there which fret level would fix. Since only on one string and one fret.
