Will a Fender 'thumb rest' fit in the tug bar holes in my pickguard.

I bought a '57 gold anodised pickguard replacement part for my P-bass on the Internet. It was a genuine 'Fender replacement part' however one of the holes didn't line up with one of the holes on my bass. So I had to glue a piece of wood into the electronics cavity in order for the pickguard to be screwed through that hole.

It also comes with holes for tug bar. I thought that was great and I was about to order one from the Internet. Then I thought:

Will this; despite being 'genuine Fender', fit in the holes on my 'genuine Fender' pickguard.

Thanks.

The only way to know for sure is to measure the distance between the holes on your pickguard and then ask the seller to do the same on the finger/thumb rest. Doesn't have be perfect, but should be pretty close.

Is there any reason not to just redrill it if it doesn't fit?

Some folks don't want "extra" holes in the PG. Other that, not a problem.

Because the pickguard is metal, I really didn't want to have to resort to drilling it.
