the OP said elsewhere that he has a new one with the high-mass bridge, and he wants "warm and woody tone", more like a vintage bass. the bridge is going to make very little difference there, but i'm actually with him on this, i like low-mass bridges as well.
the obvious answer is to wrangle an older american standard low-mass bridge like this:

goes right on, and is low-mass with threaded-steel saddles just like the original vintage. (this is my bass, a'96 P, and i don't think there's a better bridge than this
anywhere.)
or, he could go
really old-school with a wilkinson replacement for the early '50s P bass:

either way, you can see that the screw holes aren't in the same place on a top-mount vintage bridge:

if you want old-school, look at a vintage-type
pickup, and also, if that bass has the no-load tone that clicks on "10", lose it for a regular 250k audio.
