Will the footprint from a different brand bridge mar finish?

I am thinking of putting a Hipshot or Baddass bridge on my beautiful Fender Hot Rod Precision. Will the larger footprint from either bridge permanently leave an imprint (or worse) in the finish?

It very likely will leave a dent in poly. Poly is very plastic-like and never gets super hard.

Thanks for the info. I believe I will leave the stock bridge on the bass. Not really sure a Hipshot uprgrade would do very much anyway.
