will mixing strings mess up the neck?

I use light gauge strings and was wondering if I could switch the D & G strings for a heavier gauge (like one gauge up or maby 2 gauges) so I will have a deeper tone on those two strings. Is it possible without messing up anything?

It shouldn't be a problem. The truss rod is there to allow you to adjust the neck to compensate for different stresses placed upon it.
