Will normal pickups fit fine in a left-handed bass?

The question is in the title.

I was curious if the wire from the pickup wouldn't be long enough since the cable is usually going another direction.

Which leads to my other question:
Would the pickups be upside down if they were put in a left-handed bass, and if so, would it matter?

Thanks.

EDIT:
Sorry, I realized this is the wrong forum. Sorry about that!

No it's a single coil of wire around magnets. No more right handed than a hammer is. Flip it over and carry on.

I've never had any problems with fit or wire length of P or J style pickups.
