Will a Righty P bass nut fit a Lefty P bass neck?

Just a quick question.

will a right handed p bass nut fit a lefty p bass neck if i switched the nut around?

If the nut is properly cut, the answer is no. The string slots should be ramped down toward the headstock. When reversed the speaking point would be at the rear of the nut rather than at the edge of the fingerboard. It would be nearly impossible to intonate the guitar.

If the nut is not ramped then the nut can be reversed. It should then be ramped to provide better down pressure and a better seat for the string.

Exactly!!! - and, a new nut would cost you only a few bucks - where's teh big problem in getting a correctly fitted one?

Spend a litle, and gain a lot in terms of intonation, playability and comfort!!

Just get a professional to do the job - won't cost much. Just google search for luthiers or repairers in your area:
