Will a slight warp cause problems later?

Sign in to disble this ad
My bass neck is slightly warped in the middle, with a small "bump" where it looks higher than the rest of the fretbord. It is more prevalent on one side than the other. Because of the way my bass is setup, and the insignifigance of the bump, there are no current problems with fret buzz or anything....but I'm OCD about my gear, anyway. I'm not sure if it's just the way the fretboard was planed, or if the neck is warped, or if I'm just losing my mind (wouldn't be suprised if I was....)

Will this cause problems in the future, like problems adjusting the truss rod, or the bump getting worse?

If it helps, it's an '08 MIM Fender.

Probably not going to get better with age.

If it's an 08 I'd suggest getting the neck replaced pronto if it's a known problem.

Be sure it's not just a high fret.
If the fret isn't seated correctly, it is an easy fix.
