I couldn't decide which part of the forum to put this in, so I picked this one, since it is technically a piece of hardware for a bass.

I've been trying to buy one of these bassmutes from this site for over a month now, and haven't gotten a response from the guy...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've emailed him a few times and haven't heard anything back, I'm going to look at making one myself I think unless one comes up for sale

Use a piece of foam. Like you do already. Take your love out for supper with the money you didn't spend. And no I'm not being sarcastic. Although the device is a nice piece of engineering, 98 cents does.the same thing.

I'm annoyed by my lack of response from this company as well. And my unique situation requires me to be able to switch very quickly from muted to nonmuted. I have one of these - I love it and rely on it - and I'd like another for my newest 5banger. Frustrating.

No response is better than him responding, taking your money, and never sending anything... IMHO.

I don't believe that has ever happened.

I had one, a 5 string, but it was not a panacea, and I sold it on TB a while ago. I have a design in my head that I'll prototype if I ever get the time & inclination.

Bassmute website not responding

I have asked a member of an unrelated forum who is in the Netherlands to investigate the status of the company that makes the Bassmute. If he is able to shed any light on this problem I will post it here.

I believe you'd have to contact Edwin Van Huik at bass connection in the Netherlands, he could probably hook you up since I think he helped design that. Good luck. great piece of gear, I used to have a four string model, before my big clumsy hands broke it while replacing the foam.

Thanks Ted for checking this out. I just emailed the company today. We'll see how long it might take to get a response.

And oh yeah, I bought a bass with one of these installed and was very skeptical to say the least and after working with it, I really like it. Very fast, very predictable, and will give you 2 levels of muting. Try those things with your foam!!
