Yamaha BB414 - truss rod wrench size and turning direction?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've just bought a used Yamaha BB414 that seems to have never been setup. I'd like to have less relief in the neck, so can anyone tell me what size of truss rod wrench I should get and what direction I should turn it in? (This bass has truss rod access from the neck heel, not from the headstock, which is why I'm asking about direction - just in case it's different from the usual "clockwise to tighten, counterclockwise to loosen.") Also I would like to know the wrench size for bridge saddle height adjustment.

It's still "Righty tighty, lefty loosie".

To adjust the Bridge saddles, get a set of metric allen keys from a hardware store, it'll be one of the small ones!!.

For the truss rod wrench I suggest you call Yamaha and ask them where to get one - my BB400 came supplied with a wrench and it is obviously a specialised tool.
