Yamaha repair job

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

Firstly, not sure if this is the right place for this, mods, please move with my apologies if not.

I am in possesion of a Yamaha RAX 300 electic bass, but the wiring is all loose and shot to feck. I know this isnt a fantastic instrument, and your recommendation is probably to bin it and get a good bass. Unfortunetly I have to work with this, I have a soldering iron, and can get some solder of my mate, so this whole operation will be almost cost free.

The reason I post this is - how do I re-wire it? I have searched for schematics and wiring diagrams but no luck. I'm not too sure which wire goes where, etc, so any help would be much appreciated - has anyone had to repair anything similar?

TL;DR: Got wiring diagram for Yamaha RAX 300?

Pics below of its current state: please help! ( i can take more pics/close ups if helpful)

Thanks

This is a simple job if the leads are still connected to the pickups and you know how to solder.

Your image appears to indicate that a ground wire is to be attached to the back of both potentiometers.

If you do not know how to solder, practice on scrap. Or take the guitar to a tech who does.
