Yet Another Fret Buzz Question

Sign in to disble this ad
So many of these going around currently. Mine is a buzz in the first fret A string. It began recently and has increased and beginning to become audible into the second fret now but not beyond that.
I am using an A/E bass tith Piezo pickups & individual saddles for each string. I don`t know how to adjust the saddle for that string or if it is truss rod related. Any suggestions on solving this issue will be very much appreciated. Thanks & take care. Bob

Try loosening the trussrod just a little bit, and see if that doesn't take care of it.

Thanks JLS. I`ll give that a try. The truss rod is accessable from the sound hole. Which direction is loose?
Take care. Bob

Counterclockwise to loosen.

Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty.

Thanks Jimbob. I knew lefty loosey & righty tighty but didn`t know how that related to top & bottom access to the truss rod.
So with the bass in its back in front of me with the neck to my left I would reach in through the sound hole and turn counterclockwise (away from me)? Take care. Bob

Yup, that's correct. if the bass was on your lap, neck pointing to your left, you would insert the allen wrench and pull it towards you to loosen.

Remember with truss rods, small adjustments make a big difference, and can take a couple of days to fully settle in.

Let us know if that does it. Sometimes you luck out, and it's the simplest thing...
