Indeed I do know Koa, as it resides on my aforementioned neck-thru body wings .

It's also certainly available as a solid body bolt on bass. For example Victor Bailey plays a Pensa-Suhr J with a koa body. Check out http://warmoth.com/frames9.htm for an example. Koa is a beautiful, and good sounding choice for a bass, IMO. Hope that helps...

Warmoth make an excellent Koa Body, I have one that is my 'monster bass'. I also have an older Carvin that is all Koa body and set in neck and it has a warmth that no other bass has.

I have a 12-year old Carvin with a koa body with a thru-body maple neck. I really love the sound of koa. Mine has a tung oil finish, so mine has some healthy dings and a gouged area where I slap, but I love the feel of the oiled wood.

I have two TMK's a LB75 & a LB75f. And I love them both, Koa adds warmth but not all people want warmth. I wish they made a bent metal bridge for Carvin LB75's. Try Warmouth for the Koa body. http://www.warmoth.com
