You think i should replace this nut? w/pics

im no expert so just from looking at how chewed up this looks im thinking of replacing it. would you? this is a 92 korean pbass btw. im putting in new pots/wiring/pickups/bridge also. im no expert on repair, wiring and soldering is easy for me - i just dont know if there is anything special about installing a new nut

Looks fine to me. The only thing I could imagine changing is the nut material.

You usually file the nut down a good amount as to set how the action is on your bass.

Its easy enough and cheap enough to do. I replaced a broken Fender string nut (plastic) with a pre-grooved brass one. Since your doing all the other work, I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't change the string nut while your at it.

i like the looks of the brass one - - what kind of glue did you use?
