Fodera Imperial 5 Fretless - Ebony Top

FS/FT feeler:

I'm thinking of selling/trading my Fodera Imperial 5 fretless.

Specs:

Walnut Body
Full Macassar Ebony Top
Macassar Ebony Board (lined with purpleheart stripes)
34 scale neck, 5-pc with purpleheart stringers
Black Hardware
1 Duncan Dual Coil in wooden cover, neck position
Graphtech Piezo saddles per string with CafeWalter Piezo Buffer (Noisefree !), These Piezos are installed after.market by German Luthier and easily removable.
New 2011 Pope preamp (configurable internally by lots of jumpers)
String spacing <17mm
No side dot markers !

Perfect condition. Only small wear on the board from roundwounds. Currently strung with Thomastik Flats. The bass is configured for E-C tuning.

The bass sounds and rings as it should. This bass should be treated by fretless elaborated hands. I am not good enough to be honest.

Comes with original teardrop case. Retail price for this bass would be around 12.000 Euro plus 1-2 years wait. I've seen less than a handful Fodera Fretless' since years on the used market. Don't miss out this chnace if you look for one.

Asking 5.900,- EUR firm plus shipping. Or trade for a fretted Fodera of similar value in very good condition. No low-ball offers please.

Looks beautiful and is very interesting. Strange that there are no side-dots!

Do you have any recordings or clips of this bass? It would be good to hear it to help in consideration.

Thanks.

Also if you would....what is the width of the neck at the nut and at the 24th position? And...any idea of the thickness of the neck at the first fret/position? And...how much does it weigh and does it have any neck-dive?

Thanks.

I will let a luthier fret it if it won't sell for a reasonable price. Although this would be a huge modification, because then I would have to add the neck pickup too, to heighten the nut, to add the side dot markers etc....

But I am convinced that the wood combination would be killer for a fretted bass too. So may be this story ends up with a fretted Imperial...

Please don't!! I don't think you would get to sell it more easily if made it fretted,
especially not a Fodera's original fret work.

It's a work of art. Just keep it what it should be, please!!
