The Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III bass amp head delivers high-powered low-end tone with plenty of tools to shape it!

The Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III bass amp head outputs a true 575 watts RMS of low end tone. Three rotary tone controls provide 20dB of cut and boost at 60Hz, 660Hz and 5kHz, while two pairs of sliders give 15dB cut and boost at 180Hz, 340Hz, 1.3kHz and 2.6kHz. The EQ is footswitchable, allowing bass players to go from a flat fretless sound to a boosted sound via a pre-set EQ setting. The footswitchable Compression gives a fat bottom end to the sound, allowing more amplification to be used without the signal's peaks overloading the amplifiers output stage. A single input is switchable for passive and active bass guitars with a blend of solid state and dual triode valve preamps stages which can be preset and selected by footswitch, providing access to a massive range of clean, warm and overdriven tones.

The Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III bass amp head's continuous rotary Valve Drive control mixes the Solid State and Dual Triode Valve amplifier sections to add tonal character, from clean solid state to full on valve overdrive.

The included 4-way footswitch control the compressor, Valve Drive in and out, EQ in and out, and the Ashdown sub-harmonic generator which precisely tracks the main signal and adds an octave lower. A sub-harmonic level control adds just low-end reinforcement, from a subtle, thickening of the sound to unbridled, bone crushing tone. The ABM 500 EVO III features a front-panel mounted balanced DI direct injection output with pre or post EQ switching, a sub-bass output, a tuner output, an effects loop and a line input for the connection of an external sampler or sound source. Output muting cuts the signal from the DI output but leaves the tuner output live, for silent tuning. A new upgraded power section has faster transient attack, more headroom and even less noise.
