FS: El Capitan 5-string fretless acoustic bass guitar

Sign in to disble this ad
This is an "El Capitan" 5-string fretless acoustic bass guitar. I have it strung with RotoSound Tru-Bass 88 strings to emulate the sound of a double-bass when amplified and have made a brass piece so that the B string rests on the full width of the string at the bridge to give it a tighter feel. I had it strung before with LaBella Nylon Tape Wounds but I prefer the RT-88s; I will send it with both sets so you can make up your own mind.

It is also great for practicing on the couch without need for amplification.
As you can see from the close-up it uses shadow electronics for amplification; it has both a 1/4" jack and a Low-Z 3-pin output.
It comes with the original hardshell case (some minor scuffs) and it is missing the truss-rod cover but is in excellent shape overall.
This particular version is no longer made by Epiphone and cost me new ~$1'100USD

Asking $500 USD + shipping. Will ship internationally, preferably via CanadaPost; bear in mind it is a big item. Payment through PayPal

Not really interested in any trades, I'm trying to get enough funds for a Dingwall ABII (I hope that is a good reason for selling my very first bass ever )

Cheers

DavidMP

OK, for some reason I cannot delete all the previous bumps as per the rules.
Anyway, I need this out of my house so make me an offer.
I'm also selling my Godin Active Freeway Five bass.

David

For comparison a 4-string fretted version is $400 and other 5-string fret-less versions of similar quality are between $600 to $800 without a case. A hard-case is between $90 to $120.

Bump.

I can hear this bass calling to me. It's been calling for 6 months. Unfortunately it's far, far, away ....

Bump for a cool acoustic bass. I've got the 4 string version and they sound amazingly good.
