Came to me in a trade, but the more I play them, the more I'm convinced I'm an MTD guy now.
I've had 4 different FBasses now, and I have to say that the basic ash/maple that this bass has is my favourite tone wood combo. Very, very, Marcus/70's JB. The fretboard is birdseye maple though, so not entirely basic.
George's electronics package gets lots of praise for a reason... Both the pickups and the pre and very intuitive, powerful and musical. vol-vol-tone-bas-mid-tre, pull for humbucking mode, pull for passive mode.
Overall the bass is in great condition, with no dings and so forth, but the sides of the headstock have been signed by Anthony Wellington and Victor Wooten, and there's wear on the frets and some wear on the lacquer of the neck. I personally get a
really low action on this bass without any buzzing whatsoever, but would probably get a fret polish in the long run, being the anal-retentive perfectionist I am.
Comes with F-Bass light case/gig bag hybrid. I think this bass had some different glue or something, because the glue is dark, creating a dramatic highlight between the maple neck and board.
I'll try to get some photos up today. It's your BN6 with black enhanced grain and the black stripe between the neck and the fretboard.
