Hi All
Up for trade is my beloved black and maple 1977 Musicman Stingray (pre-EB). Bought this around 1995 and toured all over with it for many years. I haven't been playing professionally lately and this bass has been sitting and screaming at me to slap it. This is a players bass, not a collectors. It has lots of scrapes, dings, chips and checking but none affect its playability (lotsa mojo). I did have it re-fretted at the Guitar Clinic in Hamilton (of F-Bass fame) when I first purchased it. As far as I can tell, everything else is original. If you are looking for the King of funk basses, look no further. The amazing 2 band eq will deliver the goods in spades.
As for trades, ideally I am looking to find a 24 fret, 5 string that weighs under 9 pounds and has 19mm string spacing but feel free to run anything past me (5 string only please).
I have to add that since I cannot afford any type of shipping, this is going to have be a local trade (though if you wanna do a road trip or fly in...

).

I've had a few people ask about the weight. I do not have a scale to get the exact measurement but this is a vintage Stingray. Like its brethren, it easily weighs in around the 11 pound range. If you are looking for a light bass, this is not it.
Without further adieu, here she is...

I also have a hardshell case that came with her but I do not know if it is an original Musicman case (anyone know how to tell?).
As this bass was my dream bass for a long time, I reserve the right to pull this add.
Thanks for looking!
Peace
