I've got a wedding next month so am fine tuning the bass herd to pocket some cash for wedding expenses as well as unload basses that don't get a lot of action with me.
I own 4 Stingrays and a Bongo, so I'm pretty well covered in the Musicman department. My Bongo is a 2005 Buttercream LE as well, so I figure of the Stingrays this one is the most expendable, as lovely as she is.
Bought this one earlier this year locally here in Sydney. Both the bass and the case are in as new condition with not a mark on it. The buttercream colour is arguably the nicest limited edition colour that Musicman have done. It really is gorgeous, as the photos show.
The previous owner had a John East BTB 4 knob preamp installed by Bass People - http://www.bestbassgear.com/mmsr-v-b-t-m-preamp.htm Quote: |
The BTB-MMSR 4 Knob, including Mid Sweep, has been designed with characteristics very similar to the original MM Stingray© 2 Band EQ, but is not a copy of the original circuit. The original used a single op-amp chip (single amplifier stage in the form of a chip) for both bass and treble circuits, whereas this unit utilises a more modern dual op-amp chip (two amplifiers stages in a chip). The bass and treble are stacked which allows inclusion of a mid sweep, along with original MM style bass and treble, on a 4 knob plate. When the mid boost/cut is centred, its effect is neutral and the EQ is purely late 70s MM style.
| I'm not looking to take a bath on this or give it away for nothing, but I am selling for less than I paid second hand just a few months ago.
AUD$1900 for Sydney pickup, or AUD$1975 shipped and insured Australia wide
