I picked this up as part of a PX deal recently and, although it's great fun to play, it's really surplus to requirements at the moment so I really ought to sell it.
The regular specifications of the Artist includes a woven graphite through-neck with 24 frets, two Status soap-bar pickups, 2-band EQ with variable frequency midrange and cut/flat/boost switch and gold hardware. Individual mono-rail bridge / tuners are fitted and, in combination with a unique string retainer, both single and double-ball strings can be used.
This particular model has the, very desirable, custom options of a lovely burr madrone top, a 32" scale (due to the innovative Status BendWell), some cool blue front leds an d16.5mm spacing (which means it's very fast to play).
Both the BendWell and 16.5mm string spacing are exactly as requested by Mark King on all his instruments so this is the 'real deal' as far as an Artist spec bass is concerned
Having said that the flexible eq gives lots of tonal options as well!
The entire instrument is finished in high-gloss polyester lacquer and it has seen some wear on both the upper and lower body. These really don't show up from the front and the lower ding is barely noticeable (given its location). The rest of the bass is in great condition and obviously these lacquer marks don't effect playability or sound.
Comes with a nice Status lightweight hard case.
Price of one of these new with the custom options would be around the £2,800 mark but I've tried to allow for the lacquer damage by asking for less than half of the new price and listing at £1,300.
Happy to ship anywhere really - I'd estimate that fully insured shipping would be around £35 in the UK & £75 to mainland Europe if anyone wants me to check exact figures I'd be happy to do so.
