I'll take a stab at this one...he has quite an impressive metal resume, so theres a lot to check out. Here are a few of my personal favorite albums he played on:

Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Sadus - Swallowed In Black
Testament - The Gathering
Dragonlord - Rapture
Vintersorg - Visions From The Spiral Generator
Iced Earth - The Horror Show

+1 Death

Anything Schuldiner is great, adding DiGiorgio into the mix makes for a great album.

Yeah Control Denied is pretty amazing. But to really experience his playing, you have to buy 'Individual Thought Patterns'. 'Human' is also pretty cool, especially the solo in 'Cosmic Sea'.

HOLY SHNIKEYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

first, thanks ALOT for all the recommendations!

listening to "individual thought patterns", i am floored. yeah, i think i know (now) why i've heard of this player so many times!!! i love almost everything about that cd, just wish i could extract the vocal yelling. my vocal chords feel shredded to pieces just LISTENING to that singer/shouter. what can ya do though, really? is he suppossed to sing all beautiful and clean to that soundwall of thunderous aggression? if that was instrumental though, i would probably listen to that cd everyday.

i appreciate the help, i will definately be checking into all the suggested cds you have listed!!!!

I AM NOW OFFICIALLY A STEVE DIGIORGIO FAN.

Youll get used to the growl/scream And yeh, Steve DiGiorgio is def one of the better metal bassists along with Cliff Burton since they both are pretty innovative. Ive only heard one Individual Thought Patterns song tho, but ill buy cd since its so damn cheap here And oh, try find the song Dracula by Iced Earth, the beggining part has awesome bass

If the vocals are a problem then you should definatley check out Control Denied, it's basically Death with a different singer.

The bass is very audible. Being death metal, there are many fast parts, but also some slower, groovier sections.

I Couldnt find the CD here=( Justcos cd stores here sell only **** like 50cent.. and i couldnt find Testaments the gathering, wich i really wanted since ive liked testament since i first heard them, so i got First Strike Still Deadly wich is a "best of" but all the songs are remade with newer technology and with Steve D on bass, tho he dont show of as much as on other albums its still a great album

I can't stand the studio versions of the songs on The Gathering. From what I remember of that disc, the bass is buried in the mix.

However:
Iced Earth - Horror Show
Death - Human (everything except "Cosmic Sea", I'm pretty sure - I'll ask Steve on his forum)
Death - Individual Thought Patterns
Sadus - their discography (that's his primary band)
Quo Vadis - Defiant Imagination
Control Denied - The Fragile Art of Existance
Dragonlord - Rapture
Vintersorg - Visions from the Spiral Generator
Vintersorg - The Focusing Blur

I think that's most of what he's done.

Yeah, Control Denied was my first SDG introduction.

Sadus has a sweet soon-to-be-reissued catalogue. The new record is a respectable comeback and has a LOUD bass mix- great fretless tone. Check out the tracks at www.myspace.com/sadus.

Might I add I met him? I did. Awesome dude.
