Good Day,

Shawn Lane’s eclectic playing will always be of inspiration.

In remembrance, I recorded this song using bootleg material from Jonas Hellborg and Jeff Sipe.

One_Icon_At_A_Time.mp3

Equipment: Charvel San Dimas IV 1995, PodXT, Tubeworks Mosvalve, Engl 4x12” V30, Shure SM57, SONAR 4 Producer Edition, Arthur Schopenhauer ‘Über die vierfache Wurzel des Satzes vom zureichenden Grunde’.

Hope you enjoy!

Very cool stuff, nice to hear a tribute to Shawn (definately one of my favourite guitarists alongside the likes of Lifeson, Vai and McLaughlin).

Check out my Shawn Lane clip on page 80 of the youtube find thread. He is shown doing a crazy keyboard solo, then a crazy guitar solo.

His psoriatic arthritis affected his lungs, and on (I believe) the 23rd of September 2003, they told him he'd be on medical oxygen for the rest of his life. On the 26th of Spetember 2003 his lungs failed and he died. Sad to think it's nearly been 4 years!
