| Get Cheap Trick "Live at Budokahn". That is the album that turned most 12stringers on to the instrument. Tom Peterson records with a Precision or Thunderbird on most of Cheap Trick's albums, a 12 is not necessary in the studio and because of its wide dynamic range is difficult to get down. Live, however, it really comes through, especially when used to fill out the sound in a band with just drums, guitar and bass. The Cheap Trick DVD "Silver" gives you a good representation of the 12 in a concert setting as well. DuG used the 12 on the earlier King's X recordings, especially "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska" and "Faith, Hope and Love". |
