Question 2 months later , your impressions of Death Magnetic ?

Sign in to disble this ad
Well here we are 2 months after the release of Metallica's Death Magnetic , what are your impressions after spending some time with the album ? This album tottaly rocks my boxer shorts. It is very possible this album could be at the top of my favorite Metallica albums ( next to Saint Anger , hahaha ) I really enjoy all the material but I do have some that move me alittle more then others. That was just your life , broken beat and scarred , the first half of the day that never comes, cyanide , Unforgiven III and the Judas Kiss really push me in the Gym. LONG LIVE METALLICA !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i didn't see you as a boxer guy. that being said the 13 y.o. i help raise loves this album. i'm trying to get him interested in their older stuff, i'm just keep hitting the "i'm 13 and anything old sucks" wall. i know one day he will see the light

While I still loathe the members of that band, I do like the material on the new disc. It's not the return to Master/Lightning that they said it'd be, but I do dig it.

I'm loving it. There's not a bad track on the album. While it may not be a return to their older stuff, it's ridiculously obvious that they took major influence on their older albums.

I like very much.

i still abhor the production quality. next to unlistenable. the playing is pretty good, the song writing is almost metallica quality, but this is coming from a guy who says metallica DIED with cliff burton. the funeral is just taking 20+ years.

(and to answer the questions i KNOW ill get, no i didnt like AJFA overall, and the black album is tolerable due to the production quality)

Wow, someone I share the same opinion with. I also dislike AJFA overall, but it had some of their best songs.

My favorite of Death Magnetic is still That Was Just Your Life.

I still like it a lot, except for the single (TDTNC), that still seems a bit messy at times, and the clipping/ distorted compression production problem.

My favourite songs are All Nightmare Long, The Judas Kiss,That was just your life and The End of the Line.
Looking forward to check out the new songs live, and I also really want them to release the Death Magnetic left over song Shine!

I may receive a lot of flaming for the following:
I've been a hughe fan of tallica since the beggining of all time. I have every piece of music the've written, BUT, still think the last 2 albums are pure crap. Specially St Anger.
Death Magnetic is showing an improvement, but still a crappy metal album.
I'm keeping Symphony X - Lost Paradise in my portable mp3 player instead of tallica's DM for the everyday road to work.
I truly want Hetfield & Co. to improve in the next album cause, after all, I'm still a fan and like one, I wanna hear more good metallica.

Long story short: prolly TDTNC is the only song I really digg in that CD, the rest leaves a lot to be desired.
Just my honest opinion.

Ah.. It's OK. The music is very good but James can not sing. I bought a live show from http://livemetallica.com/ and.... ... his voice is worse live.

I've only given it a couple of listens. I'd probably have liked it when I was a teenager but they're not really my sort of thing any more.

I bought it.... and lately that seems to be my measure of whether I like an album or not. But yeah, I still have a very favorable opinion of DM.

Hmmm...let's see.
I bought it for less than $9.00 so it won't hurt as much if at the end i end up thinking is junk.I listened to it 2 times and i think is better than Load,Reload and St. Anger since it has an old times type of influence. I don't think it is as "BRUTAL" as their earliest recordings and i think that Trujillo got a little bit of the Newsted treatment on that recording.I like it but not as much as the "old stuff".

Really? Hmm what makes you say that? I'm able to hear the bass pretty much all the time.
