I think I just made up terror drone, that's so cheesy. http://www.myspace.com/drrskt
1) DDR - Yes, I did call it that because of Dance dance revolution, but only because I think it's funny because if you are "in the know" about the game, you call it DDR. I don't play personally, but my brothers do. It's kind of like my Vrdrv album I posted up, pedal manipulation, etc.
2) Bbzzrd - More like lawnmower drone. Really boring, but like that on purpose, it's a meditative jam to have on as background music. Beginning and end variations, but just a straight forward drone. I recorded a loop of 30 seconds of a Y cabled distortion, put phase and synth effects on it, and just kept recording a loop for roughly 6 hours, slept for a while, woke up and edited it with the beginning and end. It's rhythmic in a strange sort of way. I wrote it to make myself tired because I had an energy drink too late last night/tonight, so I woke up at 5AM and starting writing music.
Very boring jams, don't listen unless you like being bored.

I did a copy of the drone track, and stripped it down to it's pure subharmonics, then put it in the multitracker and cranked the bass on it, so it should push some serious air on a good system. Beware of that BTW, I know nothing of subwoofers, that track might push hard.

DDR - I especially liked from 3 minutes.
Bbrzzrd - sounds like it belongs in a torture room. Or something that might fit into a film somewhere.... Maybe?! Or could be remixed with some strange vocal samples.
Made my ears feel a little weird

That's the only reason I made it so long, it made my ears feel weird too. I got dizzy listening to it, I know some waveforms do weird things to your mind, this has some strange effect.
Thanks for the listens.

bbzzrd was interesting. i found it sort of meditative. but let me get this straight, did you have to edit 6 hours of music? is that what you said? you are an intense man!
i also listened to the hcr tune. that seemed like a departure from the rest of the stuff. i liked it but it was very upbeat. not dark like the others. |

Alright, I set up the Y cable setup, and created one droning tone, it had synth and phase effects on it. I then fed that into my looper and recorded a 30 second loop of that single tone for six hours. So in reality, the main chunk of the song is 30 seconds long. I just recorded the looped sound mixed with the main sound, creating a natural (and unnatural) phase.
It helped me fall back asleep, so I figured I'd be ****** and put variations at the beginning and end.
Oh yeah, with hcr: I guess I'm part dark weird kid and part hippie, so if I ever put an album together, it will be very bipolar/weird.
