Hey peeps
I've been at this 4-finger stuff for a while and I'm finally getting it together - still needs some work - but I'm really in to using it to play chords in a synchopated way - so here's a little look at how I do it on a little sequence I made uprecently - hope you dig some of it; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCHMqajchDM

I took this one off - because it sucked a little

I really dig it, and would like to hear it in a song.

I dig Big Fan a lot! Awesome awesome stuff. Put on the list of TB bands I'd liked to own music by... if I ever get money, which will never happen... damn.
Your link to Ludomix doesn't work, at least for me it doesn't... dead link?
Jasco wasn't my bag, mostly due to the vocalist style, musically, very cool though.
It would be cool hearing you in a more... hmm progressive funk band.... playing like this with other musicians who play like you on their respective instruments.
But all and all, you have the perfect balance of funk and flash... which most bassists lean one way or the other, solid in the pocket playing or souless wankery. So I guess that means you've got some in the pocket souless wankery! Just kidding. Great playing all around.

Very nice of you to take the time to listen to my bands - I hear what you're saying about a progressive funk thing - that definitely sounds like my BAG baby! - I am actually planning to record my own stuff - see my My Space page for those tunes - with a live band or at least a trio with a keyboardist and drummer - not sure it'll become a live band but I really have enough ideas to make a stab at an EP or album.
As for Ludomix we are currently recording an EP and it's starting to sound good - there are some full-length tunes to listen to on the website here: http://www.ludomix.com/sounds.html
And there's a mad video of us live as well on Da Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTQrjiL7ybU
We are currently looking for a new vocalist but we're going to be busy next year - hopefully touring etc.
The thing with my playing is that I love both bass lines and solos - and all the stuff in between - I'm working on my time among other things at the moment - so as long as it's grooving I'm getting somewhere - let me know what you think of Ludomix (and I'll fix that link on my website).
Be good

M | Nice use of the technique. I enjoyed watching your video. I've seen other people use this technique and it made me bored. You play with good feeling and groove.

The chords I'm playing are pretty much the same shapes as they would be on guitar - it's cool how you vary just one finger and change key - the chords at the end are like that going from G minor to Gb maj13 - as much as I like the idea of lots of extra strings for chords I actually take a lot of inspiration from guys like Laurence Cottle and Jeff Berlin who come up with loads of great chords on either 4 or 5 string basses - thanks for checking it out.
Cheers

I love your style! Love how you use those chords! Your tone is killer!
I actually came across your website a few months ago. Great site! Love the lessons.
I think it was probably your tone that convinced me to get a Warwick Thumb-very happy I did! |

BTW, I still listen to your Jasco CD every now and then. Good groovy stuff.

I listened to your band Big Fan...I used to play with a guy who played in http://www.cadillacjones.com/
early on, they were doing some stuff very similar. Ever heard of Soullive?
Let's get together when I'm in London...I'll buy you a pint |

I've been having a load of stress trying to buy a flat at moment and it's nice to get some good vibes from you all - your comments are very welcome.
I swear next year is allbum time for me...hopefully it'll be good!
