On June 25, 1967, John Lennon somehow sang this tune live to 400 million people around the world with a wad of gum in his mouth. Paul and George sat next to him, singing/playing their parts, while good old Ringo faked it, having laid down the drum track the day before that the other three were playing along live with thru their headphones. At their feet sat the likes of Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Keith Moon, Graham Nash, and Pattie Boyd-Harrison-Clapton. The TV transmission was in black and white.
I recorded my rendition of the tune in October of 2007 for a local cable broadcast to perhaps 400 people! I suggest that you use earphones to get the best fidelity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqUdnnMwTOg
The sharp crackling that you hear is the color filters on the studio lights rattling sympathetically to some of my notes, which in turn, rattled my brain a bit. |
