"Love Is Like Oxygen" by SWEET
"More Than A Feeling" by Boston
Both awesome 70's rock songs. |

Why not R. Dean Taylor's "Indiana Wants Me" or Looking Glass' "Brandy" or Lee MIchaels' "You Know What I Mean"?
I recently picked up an Ides Of March disc...interesting group; they were very young & very influenced by what they were hearing on the current Pop scene. As a result, "Vehicle" sounds exactly like something BS&T would do; there's other cuts on the disc that sound like CS&N(IIRC).
Their singer(Jim Peterik) went onto further fame with Survivor("Eye Of The Tiger", etc).
Occasionally, I'll hear "Ode To Billie Joe" on the Oldies station...very minimalist, very well done, very powerful.

I think Van Halen was a late '70s entry('78 or so?). I used to spend some free time playing pinball between classes...my stooge friends would always play "Runnig With The Devil" just to annoy the Hell outta me! This had to be between '76-'80.

The 70's featured the last of the different regional culture(s) that America had before music industry consolidation took over.
Would any of those songs be recorded today without a drop-D?
"All Right Now" by Free. Another terrific minimalist composition that had the right amount of notes.
