I thought the playing was decent and it was very pleasant to listen to. I liked the tapping part the best and wish it was longer. That had some great counterpoint (I think that's what I meant to say).

Well seeing as anything you play on an 8 string is parallel octaves I'd say it had terrible counterpoint. Counterpoint is a style of writing classical music (think J.S. Bach, the king of counterpoint) that has very specific rules as to the intervals between notes and patterns in which they can move. But you really aren't expected to know that if you aren't a classical music buff or haven't studied music in school.
That being said I loved this a lot. It's good to hear some solo 8 string stuff that isn't 100% musical masturbation...
