Abominable No Men demo

Sign in to disble this ad
My originals band Abominable No Men have spent the last month working on a demo. We just finished our preliminary mixes tonight. Having done everything on our own, I'd love to hear some outside input. What do you think of the songs and the recordings. Tear us apart, we can take it!

EDIT: We did some tweaking tonight. The new mixes are now up on our myspace page.

Hope you guys like them.

Not bad. Colaboration was interesting but didnt go anywhere. Mellow Groove could be done in 7/8 or 11/8 Mahavishnu feel. For the most part some interesting ideas however it sounds pretty much all the same on them. Kind of mopey in a way. All in all theres good ground to build on there. Notice I said build on. Keep at it. Update us when you have more.

I was really only looking for input on the top six songs.

A Means to an End
Bad Vibes
Bygones
Fine Wine
Last Setting Sun
Long Days

but thanks for the feedback.

The top six were also interesting however:

Means to an end - the hi-hat became annoying after the 12th bar.
Bad Vibes - Losses interest after the 1st chorus.
Bygones - A little too om-pa-pa for me.
Fine Wine - Not one to groove on. Needs a video to support the Vaudville like sound.
Last Setting Sun - Basically ok.
Long Days - Fine up until bar 25 (chorus?) The toe tapping and finger snapping dropped right out.

Like I said above, good ideas. Where are you going with it?
