Adapting an instrumental from one band into another band's song with lyrics?

I'll explain with an example: I was listening to Bryan Ferry and one song came up called The Right Stuff. Now when I gave it a listen I realized that not only was the guitarist on the track Johnny Marr, the actual music for the song is The Smiths' instrumental, Money Changes Everything.

Now I'm actually doing this myself with a Level 42 song, but I'm wondering if there's any other examples of this with any other professional musicians than Bryan Ferry?

I'm sure it's been done plenty if times, as a fact, I know it has, but I just can't remember what songs they were for the life of me.
Listen to some if Buckethead's Acoustic stuff (like all 30 albums of it) I've heard numerous Vocal dubs with his stuff in them.
