David Hungate is on the studio version of "Mr. Briefcase" (according to the liner notes of the LP I own).
Woodchuck & I always lock horns on that!

Other bassists on Ritenour recordings include Abe Laboriel (e.g. "Is It You"), Marcus Miller(e.g. "Rio Funk"), Nathan East, & Jimmy Haslip(IIRC, there's some tracks on Portrait that feature the Yellowjacket rhythm section + Rit)

Ritenour's earliest albums(Captain Fingers) are decent...the later albums are a bit too slick/smooth/overly produced/Pop(for my tastes).

Check out www.leeritenour.com

I do recall liking a couple of his "Latin" releases from the late '80s(a lotta Marcus, IIRC)...his Wes Montgomery-style album is also nice.

If you get the CD version of his Overtime DVD, you can hear Anthony Jackson playing through most of the tracks- he changes the groove on "Captain Fingers" and makes it sound a thousand times cooler.

+10000000 on the Overtime CD/DVD!!!! Along with Anthony Jackson on bass, there are several tracks with Melvin Davis. The groove he lays down on Night Rhythms is better than the original by Marcus. Sick tone!
