Just a heads up, there's a new clip up on their myspace, http://www.myspace.com/aghora, and they're accepting pre-orders starting today (note: in no way am I affiliated with the band except for being a die-hard fan).

Thanks for posting the link, I've been wanting to hear this band for a while. Didn't Sean Malone (Cynic, Gordian Knot) play in this band too? |

The bassist (Alan Goldstein) on this album is pretty sick too.

Didn't know at first, I thought it sounded a bit too much like an Alarum knockoff, but on second listen, I like the new clip, and Alan Goldstein is an up-and-coming monster, as are the other instrumentalists on the album. | Well actually, that song was written in 2002. I hadn't heard of alarum untill a week or 2 before we got invited to play a show with them in miami some time in early 2006 with necrophagist. Here is a clip of that show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SR-P4R2CSg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SR-P4R2CSg
Alarum since then have become very close friends of ours. But If you ask them they will tell you Aghora & Cynic are influences on their music. Now that being said. ALARUM is infact an incredible band with boku amounts of talent. When I said aghora has a "NEW Sound" it was for music that I personally wrote in the span of 2001 - 2002 - 2003. Evertything on the new album is infact old music for "Aghora".
Anyhow get the album its music that doesn't have a "Date" stamped on it. And Listen Closely Alan Goldstein has done a fine job at playing in the low range realms...
Peace

It's great to hear music that it technically stunning, from all the players, but they are real songs, not just exercises in wank. If you like it heavy and you like a bit of talent and melody too then pick up this CD. |

Santiago,
You're one of my major influences on guitar and songwriting (yes folks, I'm also a guitarist), and trust me, it's an honor to have you fill in your part here. I did not mean to suggest that you intentionally knocked off Alarum, another one of my favorites, I was just merely stating my initial observations of listening to that first clip, so sorry that it came off the wrong way. Obviously, you know your own band's chronology far better than I'll ever think I know it, so please don't take anything I say further than it's own face value. |

However I just want you all to know the facts directly from the horses mouth cause rumors can get stupid in this industry.
Thanks to all of you for supporting the band. Give the new album a good listen. Alan is the MAN on BASS.
Peace and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone,

yes i have played several low end jazzes and benaventes.
personally i do not like sadowskys that i have heard except the vintage.
to me, ( going from basstasters .com site) they sound way too scooped in the mids. i hate to talk smack tho, i want to play a few in person.
ill tell you another AMAZING jazz maker..
alleva coppola ( spelling? )
i played them at namm. wow.
PM me . and thanks for your kind words
