Aguilar Tone Hammer Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all,
I recently acquired a Tone Hammer, to use more as a DI for recording, than live application. When I am going straight from my bass to the TH, then straight out to my interface, I always find myself not having enough gain to play with. My signal always seems so weak, and the only way to fix that is crank the gain and master, to the point where its extremely noisy. I know its not supposed to be like that but for the life of me I cant figure out why.

I thought I would have plenty of gain going direct into my interface, bypassing the interface preamp, via the line-in on the interface(post EQ on the TH). But either way, line-in or using the preamp input, wont give me that gain im looking for.

Is it because Im not going through another preamp to provide another gain stage for more signal? Is it normal to use the TH in combination with another preamp?

Anyone have this issue???

I hear great things about this pedal, but haven't been able to experience it yet!
