The Kronos Quartet. Anything by them will do, but their album "Black Angels" rocks pretty hard, or if you want something more conventional, the "White Man Sleeps" compilation is good. Anytime I get burnt I rummage through the modern classical section at my record store, and listen to tuba or cello parts.

Edit: Steely Dan, too.

Strangely, I'm on a real big prog and stoner kick right now. I'd say they are my fav. genres. What BANDS are you burning yourself out on.

Eh, suggestions, this will be rough since like I said I'm on the kick you are currently losing.

Anything Mike Patton is involved in
U2 - War
Anything by the Police
Anything by Sublime
Anything by Oingo Boingo

Muzique Fann (Jason), gave me this killer live disc with Morphine, Les Claypool, John Medeski, and I think John Popper. If you get into the Sandman pretty heavily, I'll send it your way.

If you are reading this Jason, thanks a bunch.
