Alain Caron/Uzeb - Brass Licks Video

Sign in to disble this ad
I found a youtube video where Alain is playing the slap/pop tune "Brass Licks" with Uzeb on a Fender Jazz rather than his usual fretless 6 string. Enjoy!

Winter - strictly from the number of views, you've hit on a chord. Alain Caron is amazing, his "staff" is staggering, and I love his "Rhythm'n Jazz" CD, and have more on the way. He does a fair amount of work with sax also, and should likely be cited in that "Sax Led" thread...

Nice! I rather dig the Jazz tone as opposed to his F basses. Also it looked like he was using a standard slap style instead of his now, more refined, slap approach. I'd really like it if he came back to Fender Jazzes (I know, they don't make a 6) but Lowdown does.

That was a really cool tune! I love a bity of good fusion! I think the tone of the jazz bass worked really well there, but I like the creative pallette his F Basses offer him.

He sure does like that Chorus/Flange effect, doesn't he?

Indeed! The vibe of the tune, and slap bass line on a Jazz bass...it reminded me very much of 5G by Bill Bruford!
