Giving Up Putfile Giving Up Megaupload
That is one of 10 songs on the album. All are original. We do have a Myspace, but I don't care for that player and I feel like the audio is compressed. At least what I uploaded to putfile is 320kbs.
The band is called AlteredWorship, tell me what yall think.

How could I forget that? lol |

I absolutely agree with the both the dual compression to mp3s and them uploading them to the MySpace player. I own two 775s myself (one fretted, one custom fretless) and IMO the B is unbelievable for a bass that was in that price range. My tone is a touch puncher and less smooth than yours, but I believe that more a matter of EQing, your using half-rounds compared to my stainless steels, playing style, and what tone the song calls for - I'm sure you could get close to my sound and vice verse.
Nice job with the recording! |

I honestly didn't expect much to change with the mastering. Before, my bass didn't really have much of a tone. It was just, kinda there. After the mastering, the sound was so much more "full".
With my personal rig, I use the Sansamp RBI and can get a fairly large range of tonality (not like I would like though ), but I am pleased for the time being.
However, I am most unsatisfied with my B string. It's just pure mud. I blame this on the half-rounds. I love those strings on all but my B string. In the song on Putfile, I don't really touch that B string much except towards the latter part, but there just isn't much "sound" to the B string, if that makes sense. I'm going to a single round-round B string and mix my strings. I think a brightness to it should liven it up and make me pretty happy. What strings are you using at the moment?
And you're right, I got my 775 for $299 shipped and that cannot be beat. I had never played bass before and this band came to me wanting me to. I had just graduated highschool and had some cash laying around. I saw the deal in Musicians Friend, and knew Yamaha was well known so I jumped on it. I played bass for the first time that next Sunday, on stage in front of about 90 people.
This June will be 3 years ago. :coo: |

What strings are you using at the moment? | I used D'addario ProSteels on all my fretted basses, and while the bright, "piano-like" tone absolutely works for me, a single might be too overwhelming to go along with half-rounds (they're pretty bright). I'd try a set D'addario Nickels - almost the "mainstay" of bass strings and one a bit closer to what you currently use. That, or just try some new sets completely. Quote: |

| I purchased mine and a week later bought a second to defret and have a matching fretless. I was also lucky enough to be able to pricematch mine down a touch even below the $299 price. Quote:

Congrats, and nice job again on the recording. |

I won't even bother with Myspace - their compression makes even the best recordings suck ass. |
