Well, the thread with the opposite title is doing pretty well. I thought I'd ask this question: What is the worst album of all time?
Here's a start:
KISS - Music From The Elder |

| | | Metallica - St. Anger
Awful. |

But the worst stand alone album IMO would be the Linkin Park/Jay-Z monstrosity. If it was all new stuff they wrote together it might have had some value, even though I have my doubts.

Metallica - And Justice For All
Van Halen - OU812
Van Halen - 5150
The mixes on these albums -- specifically drum sounds and/or bass levels (or lack thereof) -- make them practically unlistenable. |

Nothing like old Guns but I thought it was one of the better rock albums of the year.

Definitely a +1 for that album though. | Oh I missed that - probably because it took 13 YEARS to finish! Over a decade hahaha.
No axl focused hatred here, I love the old GnR stuff, thought the album SOUNDED like it took 13 years to finish.
There was no structure to the album, it just sounded like horribly mixed music thrown together and then ripped apart and then mushed back together again and then over-processed and pushed out through a tube like one of those children's Play-Doh factories.
IMHO of course

If you took it at face value, some of the stuff isn't that bad, in fact some was really kool...
I guess you have to like LP and JZ |

I thought it might have been the best example of a decent album ruined by terrible production until I bought Level 42's latest album, "Retroglide", which takes the overcompression problem to a whole different level. I can't believe that they released it like that. |

I guess you have to like LP and JZ | That might have helped, to be sure, but I think taken at face value it was ridiculous. Big pimpin's flute hook and that whiney nitwit wailing away is too much to stand. To each his own I suppose.
Since there was some rebuttal to my original suggestion I humbly submit Silver Side Up as the most gag inducing album I can think of at the moment.

Keith Moon's Dark Side of the Moon was a real yawner. Why couldn't he have put out a drumming album?
Oh and this one.... http://www.amazon.com/Spaced-Out-Leo...0556499&sr=1-3
