Albums that you consider just short of being perfect, and why.

A complimentary thread to the perfect albums one, I think this has potential to be more than just a collection of lists Recordings that fit into this category are so close to perfection in your opinion, but there's just _one thing_ that gets you every time you listen to it.

I'll lead with the first thing that comes to mind:

Pink Floyd - "Wish You Were Here" : The intro guitar on the title track is mixed too low. Every time I listen to it in the car, I have to reach for the volume knob. Pink Floyd may actuallly cause me to die due to a momentary lapse of concentration, ergo the album is just short of perfect.

Yes- Fragile

Other than the Drum piece "Five Percent for Nothing", this album still does it for me.

This album inspires me and makes me want to quit every time I listen to it. It's in the car now..

I'll take "Five Percent for Nothing" over "We Have Heaven" every day of the week.

Milli Vanilli's album would have been perfect, if they would have actually acknowledged the REAL singers and those two clowns were sent packing back to Brighton (or wherever the tarnation they're from)....LOL

Pink Floyd's - "Momentary Lapse of Reason" was almost perfect...but it lapsed reason ("momentarily", of course)....LOL...I crack myself up!

Exactly what I wanted to say. Killer album, though.

For me another one is Deep Purple in Rock. I can't find anything appealing about the one song Living Wreck. Another obvious one is In The Court of the Crimson King thanks to Moonchild. If Lake played bass on that tune it might have saved it from the aimless tedium.

Keith Moon's Two Sides of the Moon falls just short of perfection- if only every song but Crazy Like a Fox wasn't boring rubbish...
