So you may be the kind of person who likes to screw with people when it comes down to playing songs that only you like. Johnny Rotten used to play "Trout Mask Replica" to clear parties. What would be your go to song/recording that you really dig that other people would not enjoy sitting through?
I'm asking because I'm having a good time watching people furrow their brows because I'm playing Helloween's "Keeper of the Seven Keys" at my desk.

You will never, EVER hear music quite that strange. If you do, let me know what it is, because I want to hear it.
Frank Zappa and Devo also do great, and nobody can stomach Khanate or Today is the Day for very long.

We play that song all the time at work, but we all love it, so...
I play Dragonforce every once in a while. Myself and one of the guys there loves them, and another guy hates them.
Sometimes I play the soundtracks to Final Fantasy VII (or any of the other ones, I have most of them ), and most of the guys roll their eyes. "Here goes Greg, playing his video game music again"
And I work in the warehouse for a live sound company (we do sound for big concerts; Bumbershoot, Download festival, Endfest...etc), so we have a pretty killer system setup in the warehouse.

I owe my sister an apology for ever suggesting that recording with the guy would be a good idea. |

I owe my sister an apology for ever suggesting that recording with the guy would be a good idea. | The thing is that according to the OP, you have to be able to enjoy that music, while everyone else is puking their guts out.
BTW i would like to mention Godspeed You Black Emperor and A Triggering Myth, as excelent choices to annoy people while enjoying the sight of them leaving.
But to name a definitive track for annoying almost everyone and have a blast listening to it, it has to be RED by King Crimson.

Ok then, given that criteria, I gotta go with
"Glassjaw - Cosmopolitan Bloodloss" (if the folks are lightweights).
...Or anything by Allan Holdsworth (who is GOD). |

I work at a club doing live sound and there are often drunk people who don't want to leave. The bartenders have a signal for me to crank up our official get out music. Most any Albert Ayler at full volume will work, I especially like the first track from New Grass. I have literally seen people run for cover!
There's also a particular song by Fatima Miranda that is one of my favorites, but nobody else seems to like it....
She's IMO one of the greatest singers around, and has tracks for free download at her website. |

That music would, I think, become extrememly grating to your co-workers before long.
