All Bass Christmas CD

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello everyone,
I'm a new member here and I hope I'm doing this correct

I am so happy to have finally completed my "All Bass Christmas CD" entitled...
"BASSic Christmas"

If you would like to hear a few samples go to...
http://www.myspace.com/babaelefante

If you have any questions on the tracks, fell free to ask.

As a musician and performer, Christmas music is a part of our life from November, December and sometimes even into January.

Musicians, especially jazz musicians, are always looking for unique ways to perform pieces that we have played over 1000 times.
We experiment, searching for a fresh approach out of creativity or
sometimes just boredom.

There are Christmas CD's featuring steel drums, pan flute, and even zithers.

Why not bass? I've always had a repertoire of arrangements for bass, including Christmas songs.

I started teaching some easy arrangements to my students.
By doing that, I
discovered all kinds of interesting possibilities, from very simple to a bit more
complex. This gave me the idea to record an "All Bass Christmas CD.
"

Everything recorded on this CD was performed on a bass.

I used an Acoustic double bass, fretless and fretted 5 string and a 4 string electric.

On some tracks I used multi basses, and some are just one bass.

Being the producer and the artist, I gave myself complete creative control
I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did recording it.

Thanks
Baba

Cool - I'll give real listen... Seems to me I have heard of some other all-bass xmaxy thing too...

Hey, check out the Bela Fleck "Jingle All the Way" stuff if you get a chance. It's not all-bass, but the material I heard live did have some great Woot stuff going on and the arrangements were splendid and had a good vibe.

Wouldn't it be cool to do an "ALL BASS" Christmas CD with a different bassist on each track? Maybe several Bassists on each.
Count me in for next year!
