How many of us like to figure out Steve Harris' bass lines in your favorite Maiden songs? Does any one here play in a Maiden Cover band or cover any Maiden songs in a band? I'm working on Wrathchild, Number of the Beast and Run to the Hills. Just for fun. Those little riffs are the hard part. He has 4 nice ones in Wrathchilds lead break. Bass Player Magazine did a tab of Wrathchild. I think Gutar Worlds Bass Player magazine also did some tab of a few songs. Phanthom of the Opera was one. Dang. I have to dig out those old magazines. I hope I still have 'em.

Actually the beginning of the song "Killers" was one of the first things I learned on bass. Murders in the Rue Morgue is great too, I always wanted to figure that one out but never got around to it. What about "Ghenghis Kahn" or the beginning of "Innocent Exile"? Theres too many sick bass lines on that album. |

You must live outside the US, right? I never hear Maiden on the radio in N.Y.C.

I have a video of that performance and after some editing, I created a single clip with parts of both songs, which you can watch here. Basically, I removed the vocal sections because our singer wasn't very honest with English lyrics. Most audiences don't care about that where I live, but with you I feel like . Many mistakes anyway, but those were result of the excess of adrenaline. Hope you find it enjoyable. |

Man I love the lead bass stuff 'Arry does on Transilvania, its such fun to play like every Maiden song!
BTW Alvaro, both of your guitarists can take a solo, thats a great thing, and with you,the band is killer man!

I do need to dig out those Cd's and play them one after another to get back into it. Definitely kick-a$$ music...

I think I'm going to start working on this again today. This thread has got me motivated to finish learning the album.

Great vids, Maiden is awesome =D, one of the few metal bands that didnt change their style to modern metal to get more fans and money.
The only song in my band that is by Maiden is "Hallowed Be Thy Name"
Great great song, a classic. |

Reading this thread makes me wanna learn some more Maiden, Steve Harris is a GOD on bass |

I also had another bass mag (I cant remember which one), that had riffs from other songs of Maiden in tab. I remember "Phantom of the Opera" was in there and a few others. Does any one have the magazine with it or know what mag it was in. I cannot believe that I got rid of it. What a shmuck I am.
