Against my wishes, we've put up 5 songs on our bands Facebook Page, that were recorded live at a show. It's one of few recordings we currently have but I think it sounds horrible. Not so much in Sound quality, but as far as our performance. We all messed up a lot that show, and It's pretty sloppy as well. When I bring up my disdain for exposing the world to how bad we sounded live (via that recording) my Band mates keep telling me they think it's fine, and I'm being over critical about it.
I think they are more excited about having something new up, and missing the bigger picture. It's one thing to show people what you sound like, but when it sounds like crap your only hurting your exposure, and turning people away IMO.
Should I just not worry about and be happy we have something up, or should I put my foot down and demand better?
Thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks

Sometimes the mistakes "we" as musicians make are never heard by the audience. That being said posting the link on this site could be brutal. (kidding, of course) |

| I'll post it... I don't think the Facebook music app will let me post just the song so I'll probably just post the page link. All the songs on the page are from the same crappy show. Scroll down on the left side of the page for the songs. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Revere...241268?ref=sgm
Warning, we are Stoner rock/Doom metal

That being said, if you have no other recordings, sometimes it is better to have something mediocre than nothing at all, just to show what you sound like or what your style is

I'd wait until you had some new clips, theres a lot of very noticeable sloppiness in the tracks I listened to and its really a genre that loses so much of the atmosphere if its not totally bang on the beat every time.

| Thanks dj150888 for your Honesty. I share your sentiments exactly which is what has fueled my concern. We do play much tighter in general, which is what I keep arguing to the rest of my band as to why this is not a good representation of us. I just wish they could see it the way I do.

Maybe upload them again and name them something like Medusa (live at Doom Theater). They are OK, but you should get something better up as soon as you can get some better recordings.
