Your English is also good.
Since you like 80's stuff, do you play any NDW stuff? PM me, I have a self-taught tab or two of Fehlfarben stuff. I'd love to trade or help a brother out. |

I'm actually a glam-rock /glam-metal fan. That damned 80s are what I'm crazy about.
But I realize, that this music is... well... primitive. That's what I would enjoy to play in a band, but it is not so interesting to sit home and repeat 2 notes of some bass line of Nikki Sixx.
So my musical interests really split into 2 branches: glam and classics. | If thats the case then its time you invented (fused) the two and invent.....CLASSIGLAM........ Figure out how to incorporate classical and glam sounds, put the initial ideas on a looper or recorder and made a new sound. (eg, get a metal drum loop and do a modified fugue or something). The world is always looking for a gimmick and now you have one. Even if its short lived you will have pioneered a different sound.

As for the wife...........you're on your own with that. I would by the bass I want and park it in the closet right next to the 30 pair of shoes women typically own.
In the mean time dont quit your day job. | What's wrong with watching the fretboard the entire time. This dude does it: http://youtu.be/UZVoj0Q1iVk
I think he's pretty good

| | | | Rather than spend a lot of money on a great bass, but a decent used one and learn to use your fingers to get the best sound from it. After some time, and your wife has decided it's OK, buy a great bass. You will be thankful for learning how to coax a good sound from a decent instrument. You new, great bass will be in much better hands. |

Usually the bassists don't showcase their chops in his band afair, but think of Spastic Ink which combine classical counterpoint and modern basslines (not outright funk but in the ballpark if you wanted to go there)
So there's predecessors to that type of music and it does certainly work so I'd also say, go for a hybrid. Especially since you have the technical ability.

| | | | Do the second piece again , but this time , rock it, funk it , jazz it, more feeling less mechanics , try it with a drum loop.
I knew this girl that played decent guitar, she went to GIT , she learned a ton of stuff, she could really play , she was doing sweeps and all that stuff, but, she had no feel, she sounded like a machine, get some "feel" less mechanical more human heartbeat. Other than that your playing is awesome . | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
