...that considers this http://youtube.com/watch?v=XDPj4jQI6ic AWESOME bass playing?

The video is some cheesy thing someone put together (disregard it) but it's the only link to the song I can find. I've mentioned the song, posted the link, said all kinds of stuff about it over the past year or 2 - and not a SINGLE person has ever acknowledged it at all. People write pages and pages about hundred note per second garbage (IMO) that has not an ounce of musicality or feel to it - and nobody seems to have a thought about this which I think is one of the simplest most heartfelt basslines ever, dammit!!!!

NOW LISTEN TO THIS!!!! and then if you're nice I'll tell you who I THINK it is that's playing on it. Or you can guess. And no, it's not me.

Thank you.

Hey! I think it's awesome! That is the way a bass should be played.

I don't care for Stanley, or Jaco. There. I said it.

Tal? I say that after listening to her tone on the live stuff she did.

EDIT: Nevermind, was it the guy from Rusted Root?

Sweet tune. I like the bassline, very laid back, but ever present and the melody very catchy. Even my seveteen-year-old liked it.

Thanks for sharing.

Its hard for me to listen to with the video going.

Its not my favorite style. buts its very easy to listen to. I like aggressive music a bit more.

joking, it was actually a pretty awesome bass line, although i didn't care too much for the vocals.

I'm pretty sure that's Meshelle Dnglekdgklgklgkliellgkello - you know who I'm talkin about. I don't even know how to get close enough to the spelling to google it.

It was OK, fit the music. I didn't find it terribly creative nor very boring.

It was fine. not bad.

Thumbs down Sorry, but...

...despite the fact that I forced myself to listen to the song in its entirety, I found both the song and the bass part unremarkable, uninspiring, trite, tedious, boring...

Cool, two Citizen Cope threads in the last couple days. A little exposer for some cool music, I love his work!
