I find no melody or groove.

It captured my attention! I can't wait to hear what the Tetsuro critics have to say about this one!! Play like that and sing at the same time= Real Talent!! |

Agreed that the song and technique are SERIOUSLY mismatched.

Just his way of expressing what he wants. I usually associate slap with funk/r&b, but I really like this "mashup" of styles.. I think it works out really well!
I'd buy his CD if I knew where I could get it.. |

Though the slap tone seems to be a bit imposing and doesn't blend well enough with the singing. The bass has a lot of presence, when it should take a more accompanying role in this situation. |

Isn't part of what music is about is free expression and fusing and blending of styles to create something new? I find it to be a refreshing departure from a lot of what I hear these days. I don't find the slap line unmelodic, quite the opposite. Obviously, it's all a matter of opinion and I just happen to really dig it! |

Thanks for the link - really impressed, thought it worked well as a piece of music and a song and thought the vocals and bass sat suprising well together (sounded better when not through my laptop!).
Anyone got a decent link to this guy as I would like to hear some more.

More I listen to it, the more I like it. Despite the thoughts of the slap and vocals being mismatched, its absolutely original which we cant stay for alot of music these days. Its what his heart told him to write and he did it.. |

Is this the same guy, who was in a band called Mother Brother?
Just bass and drums.
