American Life by Primus

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone,

I just got "Sailing the seas of cheese" by primus and im trying to learn some of the songs. Ive just run into a few errors.
On the main riff to American Life, is he using flamenco or popping both the G and D strings before hammering on the 3rd and 5th frets? Ive been working on this for a few hours and im feeling stupid because I dont know if Im doing it right.

I should really look into buying sheet music!

thanks for your help

Just the low G, then hammer on and off the F and G on the D string and let the G ring out. And after five of the D-F-G things on the D hold the G on the D and let the G ring out.

And listen carefully to the recording.

Slap low G, slap D string, hammer F & G with left hand and stroke the D & G string while hammering.
